MEET THE AUTHOR – Honest Aging: An Insider’s Guide to the Second Half of Life
Join us for a presentation followed by a Q&A with Dr. Rosanne Leipzig, MD, Ph.D., who discusses her book, Honest Aging: An Insider’s Guide to the Second Half of Life (Hopkins Press/January 2023). In it, she argues that “How you react to age-related change determines how you will live.”
As a doctor, professor and chair emeritus of the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, she has witnessed vast improvements and changes to not only medical innovations but also social reframing on aging itself. For the patients she has spent her life in conversation with, her goal has been to help people find ways to be creative, resilient and engaged, no matter what decade they are in.
This event is for anyone who seeks a frank and detail-rich discussion about the changes to our bodies and minds. Find out how those experiencing aging and those who love them can talk together more cogently and kindly about the changes and adjustments that will make life easier–while still retaining the qualities that make life worthwhile.
