Bones for Life for Balance, Function and Posture

Bones for Life for Balance, Function and Posture

Do you want good bones? Of course, you do!

Knowing and using our skeleton is key to counterbalancing the effects of “aging” on our health. From reducing fall risk to maintaining quality bone health, Bones for Life is a movement approach that can help. Osteoporosis is virtually an untouched field in terms of successful reversal, nor is there ground-breaking data on prevention. But we do know that movement against gravity is needed for bone health. We also know that quality movement decreases fall and fracture risk. And to be able to stand tall feels fantastic.

In this webinar, you’ll be empowered to understand your own body’s alignment, use simple exercises to improve it, and bring restoration to the curves of the lumbar and neck to alleviate injury or pain. Many of the alignment exercises demonstrated can be done either sitting or standing.

As each body is different, you will learn how to assess for yourself how you stand, how you sit, what feels right, and what feels like discomfort or pain. Instructor Cynthia Allen will show us gentle exercises that just about anybody can use throughout the day.

We’ll encourage you to chat actively during the webinar to learn from each other’s comments and build community.

Cynthia Allen is the creator of the online Move Better, Feel Better Summits and Your Learning Body, a vibrant, virtual learning movement community. Her private practice, Future Life Now, LLC, is centered in Cincinnati, where she sees individual clients and teaches classes in the Feldenkrais Method and Bones For Life. She speaks on osteoporosis, Bones for Life, somatic education, the Feldenkrais Method, Integral Human Gait theory, and other ways of caring for oneself or understanding human potential.
