Two Paths, One Journey: Distinguishing Lewy Body Dementia from Alzheimer’s Disease
Lewy body dementia (LBD) is often called the most common type of dementia that you have never heard about. This presentation delves into the critical differences between Lewy body dementia and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), two of the most common forms of progressive dementia. While both conditions affect cognitive function and memory, they have distinct characteristics, symptoms, and progression patterns. These key differences impact the journey of care partners living with Lewy body dementia in significant ways. Join us in October as we observe Lewy Body Dementia Awareness Month with Julia Wood, occupational therapist and Director of Professional and Community Education for the Lewy Body Dementia Association. By the end of this presentation, attendees will have a clearer understanding of how Lewy Body Dementia differs from Alzheimer’s Disease, enabling better recognition, diagnosis, and management of these conditions.
