MEET THE DIRECTOR: Simon Chambers Discusses “Much Ado About Dying”

Much Ado About Dying has been described by Variety magazine as “Refreshingly Frank, Humorous and Unflinching.” It’s a movie about Simon Chambers, a family caregiver for his aging uncle (pictured) who was a Shakespearean actor in London.

“Dying is like going on a wonderful holiday without the bother of packing” says exuberant gay Uncle David when he forces nephew Simon back to London to care for him. David’s anarchic spirit is unbreakable. He fights with Simon, refusing to go into a care home, insisting on dying in the squalor of his unheated tumble-down house.

The film has won several festival awards and will be released in New York at the Film Forum starting March 15, with an L.A. release on March 22. Join us for an interesting and lively interview about the film.
