Join us for an interview with trailblazing photographer and author Lynn Gilbert, 85, who has photographed iconic women such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Billie Jean King, Barbara Walters, and Julia Child, among others. Her commanding portrait of Louise Nevelson, one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, became the symbol of the 2022 Venice Biennale (the Olympics of the art world).

Portraits from her book, Particular Passions: Talks with Women Who Have Shaped Our Times, are currently on exhibit at the Ilon Gallery in Harlem 204 West 123rd St., New York, NY until June 30. The Washington Post said that her book, published in 1981, “was revolutionary for shedding light on the accomplishments of women.”

Over the years, her work has appeared in countless books, book covers, newspapers, magazines, films, business reports, and museums online. Her portraits are in the National Portrait Gallery and The New York Historical Society, amongst others as well as the Richard and Ellen Sandor Collection, one of the finest photography collections in the world.
