Integrating Your Estate Plan with Your Long-Term Care Plan

Integrating Your Estate Plan with Your Long-Term Care Plan

Estate planning concerns how people want their assets to be distributed when they die. However, most people don’t realize — until they need ruinously expensive long-term care — that they are at risk of completely depleting their assets well before their death. If they don’t have a long-term care plan, they may have no estate. And they may be putting their spouses and children at risk as well.

Attorney Julia Santo will explain these risks and explain how you can set up an estate plan that will integrate seamlessly with strategies that help preserve your assets while you are alive. You will learn how important it is for you — particularly if you need or may soon need long-term care — to protect yourself and your assets during your lifetime.

The main goal is to preserve and protect your money so that you can live out your life safely and comfortably. In the end, the money saved is a collateral benefit that makes it more likely that you will be able to leave a legacy that benefits your spouse, heirs, or other beneficiaries. By planning ahead, you can achieve both of these goals at the same time.
