The goal of all ten PSS Centers is to help older adults stay healthy, engaged and connected. We do this through innovative and comprehensive programming ranging from activities that are physical, to those that are educational and fun, too. We encourage our Center members to try new things, and not only participate in activities, but find new purpose through our extensive volunteer opportunities. There is something for everyone. Whether you are looking to learn a new skill, get in shape or just mingle with old and new friends, our Centers offer it all. The best part is that being a member is completely free to anyone age 60 and older. PSS’s ten centers are all funded by NYC Aging. Every Center serves hot nutritious meals.
Thanks to funding from the NYC Aging, PSS has been able to expand our services by hiring MSW and LMSW social workers to assist clients with their needs – which can be as simple as interpreting mail to helping with housing issues and more.

I enjoy coming to PSS City Island Center because of the new friends I have met. I benefit from yoga, tai chi, aerobics classes as well as painting, calligraphy and music. I enjoy lunch with other City Islanders. The staff is friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable.
Joining PSS King Towers Center has given meaning to my days. I feel happier and healthier. I have become a part of a family that helps improve the lives of older adults. It is never a dull day when I am with family, and that’s what PSS does for us — creates a family outside the home.
