Young Adult Services

PSS has been a leader in providing kinship caregiver services for over 20 years. A program was created to help meet the changing needs of our young adults who are transitioning into the next phase of their lives. This is a comprehensive program for youth that are being raised by their grandparent or are responsible for caring for an ill or disabled family member.

Our Young Adult Services Program offers workshops designed to address the needs of these young adults.

Here is a sample of the workshop topics we offer:

  • Career guidance & job search  strategies
  • Academic support: tutoring/homework help
  • Temporary relief from caregiving responsibilities
  • Academic incentives
  • Information & referral to services
  • Internships and Mentorships opportunities

In addition to our direct services to young adults, we offer many ways in which non-profit organizations, schools, or social service agencies can benefit from a relationship with PSS. Our Young Adult Services program can bridge the gap between the people who need your agency’s services and the growing number of volunteers available who are determined to make a difference. We provide FREE services to community partners who want to enhance their organizational capacity to service kinship and caregiving young adults. All of our programming is hands-on and team-based, where volunteers can engage in direct service with our young adults.
